We’re already into the month of November, and for many small business owners, there may be a lot of “hurry up and wait” attitude floating around the office as the holidays approach.

These days, many small businesses are looking at the large and growing number of ways in which they can advertise themselves to specific people.

Many small business owners who are just starting out, and even many of those who have established reputations in their communities built over a number of years, may find themselves occasionally looking for ways to gain an edge in their local markets.

A large number of small businesses have so many bills to keep track of that owners may run into difficulties just trying to keep up with all of them.

These days, many companies – both big and small – are turning their attentions to improving their standing on social media sites that are popular with the general public, such as Facebook and Twitter.

A general store, also known as a general merchandise store, carries a wide selection of products intended for the home, such as household products, cleaning products, clothing and shoes, hardware and tools, dry goods, furniture, and home decor, not to mention staple food goods. General stores have historically been located in rural areas, however, these days they are located anywhere and everywhere. There was some consternation a month or so ago, in the run-up to and then during the federal shutdown, about how the impasse would create difficulties for small businesses when it came to getting loans from the federal government.

These days, many small business owners likely rely on their banks heavily to accomplish all sorts of goals, but it seems that the services these financial institutions are providing aren’t quite meeting entrepreneurs’ expectations.

The federal shutdown has long since ended, with a somewhat amicable resolution, and many of the regular services that were denied to small businesses during that time have returned to normal operation.
